David Russel “Pierre” Hutchcraft, a resident of Wayne City, IL passed away on Thursday, September 21st, 2017 at his home.
David worked as a tire builder for Continental Tire in Mt. Vernon, IL for many years before retiring. He also worked as a tool pusher and driller at various oil field sites, and served in the United States Marines Corps Reserves. He was a member of the Long Prairie Baptist Church, a member of the Orel Masonic Lodge #759 in Wayne City, and was an avid Cubs baseball fan.
He is survived by his wife Lois Hutchcraft of Wayne City, 5 children: Tanya Melton, Terra Hutchcraft, Ben (Marcie) Caldwell, Jennifer Parson, and April Hutchcraft, 3 sisters: Rose (Bill) Hammond, Doris (David) Schlag, and Donna Bartlett (Robert Knauss), a mother-in-law Clarice Rawls, 10 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, and several nieces & nephews and extended family.
He was preceded in death by a son Kenny Hutchcraft, his parents Vern & Gearldine Hutchcraft, and 2 sisters: Carol Fletcher and Fern Thiery.
Funeral services will be held Monday, September 25th, 2017 at 10 am at the Young
Funeral Home in Wayne City, IL with pastor Seth Schlag officiating.
Visitation will be Sunday, September 24th from 5 pm until 8 pm at the funeral home with a Masonic service at 6:00 pm.
Burial will be at Farnsworth Cemetery near Keenes, IL.
The family has requested that everyone attending dress casually.
