Michael "Mike" G. McCormick

Michael "Mike" G. McCormick passed away on Wednesday, December 27th, 2017 at his home in Wayne City, IL.

Mike was born in Mt. Vernon, IL on March 23rd, 1960 to his parents Glen McCormick and Betty (Loker) Shelton.

Mike worked in maintenance for many years with his brother Les at Les McCormick Trucking in Wayne City.  He was a member of the Ellis Mound Baptist Church near Wayne City.  Mike enjoyed watching Nascar and spending time with close friends Doris Crawford and Jason Mathews.

He is survived by his mother Betty Shelton & step father Leroy Shelton of Opdyke, IL; 1 daughter Sarah (Justin) Bilderbeck of Dahlgren, IL; 2 sons: Dustin (Erica) McCormick of McLeansboro, IL and Denton McCormick of Belle Rive, IL; a step son Michael (Dana) Flota of Woodlawn, IL; 2 sisters: Marilyn (Bruce) Prosise of Mt. Vernon, IL and Laurel (Denny) Austin of Owensville, IN; a brother Les (Sharon) McCormick of Wayne City, 4 step brothers: Kevin (Robin) Shelton of Opdyke, IL; Kyle (Katrina) Shelton of Opdyke, and Kipp (Donna) Shelton of Fairfield, IL and Shawn Johnston of Fairfield, IL.

Also surviving are 7 grandchildren: Brylee, Bryant and Brystol Bilderbeck of Dahlgren, IL; Adalynn McCormick and Liam Wolfe of McLeansboro, and Dason and Davin Flota of Woodlawn and 1 grandchild on the way.  Several nieces and nephews also survive.

He was preceded in death by his father Glen McCormick, his aunt Kay McCormick, and grandparents Les & Elsie McCormick and George & Joy Loker.

Visitation for Michael "Mike" G. McCormick will be held from 10:00 am until 1:00 pm on Saturday, Dec. 30, 2017 at the Young Funeral Home in Wayne City, IL.

Funeral services will be held the same day at 1:00 pm, with Bro. Larry Rainwater officiating.

Burial will be at Garrison Cemetery near Wayne City.

Memorials may be made to the Garrison Cemetery Fund or to the Wayne City Ambulance EMT's and will be accepted at Young Funeral Home in Wayne City.
