Roger Eric Pontious, 38, of Wayne City, IL passed away on December 28, 2018 in Wayne County, IL.

He was born July 21, 1980 in Centralia, IL to his parents Roger B. Pontious and Donna Fay Pontious (Sweeney), both of whom preceded him in death.

On August 4, 2013 he married Maranda Nicole Pontious (Smith), who survives.

Eric worked for Earl’s Tank Truck Service in Barnhill, IL; MAP Oil Company in Grayville, IL; and he enjoyed going rock hunting.

He is survived by his wife Maranda Nicole Pontious of Wayne City, IL; 3 sons: Gage Pontious of Salem, IL; Memphis Pontious of Christopher, IL and Zepplin Pontious of Wayne City, IL; one daughter Londynn Pontious of Christopher, IL; one brother Craig Johnson of Salem, IL; 3 sisters:  Brandy (husband David) Kirchner of Carlyle, IL; Jennifer Pontious of Carlyle, IL; and Brittany Pontious of Mt. Vernon, IL; grandparents Francis & Ray Hosselton of Louisville, IL; one uncle Mike (wife Debbie) Sweeney of Kentucky, mother-in-law Sherla Lane of Wayne City, IL; father-in-law Timothy Smith of Wayne City, IL; several nieces & nephews, and several friends.

Services for Roger Eric Pontious will be held at 10 am on Wednesday, January 2, 2019 at Ellis Mound Church, south of Wayne City, IL.  The Young Funeral Home of Wayne City, IL is assisting the family with arrangements.
