Chelsea Noel Wood

Chelsea Noel Wood, 41, of Johnsonville, IL passed away on Tuesday, December 10, 2024 at Deaconess Gateway Hospital in Newburgh, IN.  Chelsea was born on September 28, 1983 in Abilene, TX to Gilbert & Traci Wood.  Chelsea worked in the advertising department for the Wayne County Press newspaper in Fairfield, IL. 

Chelsea never met a stranger, and was a kind and loving person.  She had a wonderful sense of humor.  She was a very loyal person and love for others was without limit.  She loved animals, and had several pets.  Her children meant the world to her, and she loved them with all of her heart.

Chelsea is survived by her parents Gilbert & Traci Wood of Wayne City, IL; 2 daughters: Maci Cade Wood of Centralia, IL and Brylee Noel Rusler of Fairfield, IL; 2 sons: Macin Cole Wood of Centralia, IL and Gibson Jay Schofield of Clay City, IL; a brother Britton Wood of St. Louis, MO; several aunts, uncles, and cousins; and her pet dogs Lady May and Blue.

She was preceded in death by her maternal grandmother Deborah “Nee-Nee” Thompson and her paternal grandparents Hadley J. & Mary Ruth Wood.

Funeral services for Chelsea Noel Wood will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 17, 2024 at Young Funeral Home in Wayne City with Pastor Troy Shook officiating.  Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at 12:00 noon at Young Funeral Home.  Interment will follow the funeral service at Thomason Cemetery in Wayne City.

Memorial donations may be made to Young Funeral Home to assist with final expenses.
