Cheryl Ann (Grote) Fenton

Cheryl Ann Fenton, 60, a resident of McLeansboro, IL and formerly of Sims, IL passed away at Deaconess Gateway Hospital in Evansville, IN on May 7, 2021.

She was born December 27, 1960 in Fairfield, IL to her parents Kenneth and Elaine (Wells) Grote.

Cheryl was employed at Continental General Tire in Mt. Vernon, IL as an Inventory Specialist.  She previously worked at Heavy Duty Dowser Electric in Mt. Vernon, IL.  She loved spending time with her grandchildren and going to all of their activities.  She attended Ellis Mound Missionary Baptist Church.

Cheryl is survived by her father: Kenneth Grote of Sims, IL; her brother: Terry (Gayla) Grote of Fairfield, IL; her son: Rick (Marsha) Fenton of McLeansboro, IL; two grandchildren: Keygan and Kallyn Fenton; niece: Mercedes Grote and other aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents: Marvin and Twila Grote of Centralia, IL and Carl and Freda Wells of Sims, IL; and her mother: Elaine Grote of Sims, IL.

Visitation will be held from 5 pm until 8 pm on Thursday, May 13, 2021 at Young Funeral Home in Wayne City, IL. 

Funeral Services for Cheryl Ann Fenton will be held at 11 am on Friday, May 14, 2021 at Young Funeral Home in Wayne City with Pastor Trevor Pasley officiating.

Burial will follow at Thomason Cemetery in Wayne City.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Ellis Mound Missionary Baptist Church Youth Group or to the Thomason Cemetery Fund, and will be accepted at Young Funeral Home.
