Clarice Lee (Downen) Rawls

Clarice Lee Rawls, 83, a resident of Wayne City, IL passed away at her home on Friday, June 21, 2019.

Clarice Lee (Downen) Rawls was born in Wayne County June 21, 1936 to Alvin Downen and Edna (Legg) Downen who both preceded her in death.  She married Guy Rawls, who also preceded her in death.

She was a homemaker and enjoyed spending time with her family.  She was a member of the Keenes Christian Church, where she had been baptized.

Clarice is survived by 7 children: Lois Hutchcraft of Fairfield, IL; Lena (Ronnie) Mason of Wayne City, Jimmy (Jenny) Rawls of Wayne City, Mary Irwin of Wayne City, Jackie Rawls of Titusville, FL; Joyce (Eddie) Brooks of Blairsville, IL; and Julie (Tim) Piper of Wayne City; 2 sisters: Dorothy Hedden and Cora Hutchcraft, both of Wayne City; a brother Jesse Downen of Sims, IL; 17 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren, and several nieces & nephews also survive.

She was preceded in death by both parents, her husband Guy Rawls, a daughter Ida Leona Rawls, 2 granddaughters: Kylie Rawls and a newborn baby girl, 3 sisters: Mable Austin, Lola McCormick, and Ida Butler, and 2 brothers: Russell Downen and Art Legg.

Funeral services for Clarice Lee Rawls will be held at 10:00 am on Tuesday, June 25, 2019 at the Young Funeral Home in Wayne City, IL with Pastor Gary Cline officiating.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Monday, June 24, 2019 at the Funeral Home.

Burial will be at Baltimore Cemetery, south of Wayne City, IL.
