Connie Lou (Johnston) Taylor

Connie Lou (Johnston) Taylor, 79, of Wayne City, IL passed away on Sunday, May 15, 2022 at her home.  Connie was born December 27, 1942 in Rochelle, IL the daughter of Tommy & Louise Johnston.  On July 15, 1961 Connie married Gerald “Jerry” Taylor, who survives.

Connie was a mother and a homemaker, and previously worked for Williamson's Picture Frame Factory in Wayne City, was the Director of the Wayne City Teen Center, and worked at the Phillips 66 Station in Wayne City.  Connie was a member of the Keenes Christian Church in Keenes, IL.  She enjoyed cooking, and her greatest joy in life was raising kids and being around children. She loved her family, her church, and her community.

Connie is survived by her husband Gerald “Jerry” Taylor, 4 children: Terri (Travis) Helm, Todd Taylor, Tracy Taylor, and Trent (Sonali) Taylor; 6 grandchildren: Jade (Matthew) Staley, Devin (Cody) Snow, Jaxon (Briannah) Helm, Chance “Mac” Taylor, Tripp Taylor, and Shelbi Yanez; 5 great-grandchildren and several nieces & nephews also survive.

She was preceded in death by both parents, her husband’s parents: Hazel & Madeline Taylor, and 2 brothers: Terry Johnston and Carol Johnston and their wives.

Funeral Services for Connie Lou (Johnston) Taylor will be held at 10 am on Friday, May 20, 2022 at the Keenes Christian Church in Keenes, IL with Pastor Tim Coonce officiating.  Visitation will be held from 5 pm until 8 pm on Thursday, May 19, 2022 at the church.  Interment will follow funeral services on Friday at Thomason Cemetery in Wayne City.
