Dale Eugene Brown

Dale Eugene Brown, 76, of Lovington, IL and formerly of Fairfield, IL passed away on December 24, 2022 at HSHS St. John's Hospital in Springfield, IL.

Dale was born August 8, 1946 in Sims, IL the son of James Brown & Margaret (Eckleberry) Brown.  He had previously worked as a janitor at Roadmaster Bicycles in Olney, IL.  He attended Lovington Christian Church in Lovington, IL and previously attended Sims Christian Church in Sims, IL.  He enjoyed tinkering, collecting aluminum, and mowing yards.  He was a great man, and he was always smiling.  He had a heart of gold and loved to help others.  He loved his children and his grandchildren very much.

Dale is survived by 2 sons: Tracy Brown (and fiancé Denisa Rollinson) of Centralia, IL and Joseph (and wife Gwen) Brown of Fairfield, IL; a step-daughter Joetta Tubbs of Fairfield, IL; 3 grandchildren: Hunter Brown, Hailie Brown, and Thomas Brown; 2 step-grandchildren: Kateland Hunt and Jacob Finley, 1 step-great grandchild: Jeremiah Hunt, a sister Joyce Waller of McLeansboro, IL; a nephew Jeremy Waller, and a niece Jamee Shelton.

He was preceded in death by both parents James & Margaret Brown, a son Jimmydale Brown, and a grandson Hayden Brown.

Funeral services for Dale Eugene Brown will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, January 6, 2023 at Young Funeral Home in Wayne City, IL with Pastor Roger Ash officiating.  Visitation will be held from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Thursday, January 5, 2023 at Young Funeral Home.  Interment will follow the funeral service at Thomason Cemetery in Wayne City.
