Danny Lee Stephenson

Danny Lee Stephenson, 72, of Wayne City, IL passed away at his home on Monday, January 31, 2022.

Danny was born January 11, 1950 in Eldorado, IL to Clyde Stephenson & Velma (McCormick) Stephenson.  On January 6, 1973 he married Ann (Staggs) Stephenson, who survives.

Danny worked as an industrial mechanic for Champ in Albion, and previously worked for H.B. Williamson in Wayne City for 10 years.  He was a volunteer firefighter and EMT for the Wayne City Volunteer Fire Department, a member of the Wayne City Saddle Club, and a member of the Ellis Mound Church in Aden, IL.  He enjoyed hunting, boating, traveling, watching his grandkids participate in rodeo, loafing at the coffee shop, and spending time with friends and family.

Danny is survived by his wife Ann Stephenson of Wayne City, daughter Annetta (Russell) Beeson of Fairfield, IL; son Daniel (Jessica) Stephenson of Belle Rive, IL; daughter-in-law Susan Youngblood of Wayne City, 6 grandchildren: Adlee Stephenson, Risten Kell, Ty Stephenson, Jaxson Youngblood, Jaycee Youngblood, and Johnathon Beeson, brother Darrell (Linda) Stephenson of Avon Park, FL; mother-in-law “Babe” Staggs, and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by both parents, 2 sisters: Darlene Dycus and Carrell Breeze, and a son Chucker Youngblood.

Funeral services for Danny Lee Stephenson will be held at 2:00 pm on Sunday, February 6, 2022 at Young Funeral Home in Wayne City, IL with Rev. Richard McCormick officiating.  Visitation will be held from 6 pm until 8 pm on Saturday, February 5, 2022 at Young Funeral Home in Wayne City.  Burial will follow funeral services Sunday at Baltimore Cemetery, south of Wayne City, IL.
