Emanuel S. Allgyer, age 74, of Xenia, IL passed away peacefully on Nov. 17, 2023, surrounded by his loving family. Over the past several months, he suffered from a severe lung disease. He was born July 16, 1949 in Lancaster County Pennsylvania to LeRoy Sr. and Lizzie (Stoltzfus) Allgyer. He was married to Anna Mary (Horning) Allgyer on December 27, 1969. He was a farmer in Southern Illinois for 48 years and a faithful member of the Walnut Hill Mennonite Church, Centralia, IL.
He is survived by his loving, faithful wife Anna Mary Allgyer, two sons: Timothy (Julie Good) of Xenia, IL; Calvin (Eileen Zimmerman) of Johnsonville, IL and four daughters: Dawn (Nathan Martin) of Bethel, PA; Amy (Brian Heisey) of Manheim, PA; Bethany (Ethan Zimmerman) of Clayton, DE; Caroline (Wendel Zimmerman) of Lebanon, PA; 38 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren, all of whom he loved dearly and prayed for daily.
He is also survived by 3 brothers: Wilmer (Erma) Terre Hill, PA, LeRoy, Jr (Fern) Whittington, IL and Kenneth (Lucy) New Holland, PA and a sister Ruth Ann (Allgyer) Nolt, Womelsdorf, PA, and a sister-in-law Lolly Allgyer, Scurry, TX.
He was preceded in death by his parents LeRoy Sr. and Lizzie Allgyer, one grandson, Patrick Zimmerman (son of Ethan & Bethany), two brothers, David and Lester, a stillborn sister, a sister-in-law Debbie Allgyer & a brother-in-law Nelson Nolt.
Funeral services for Emanuel S. Allgyer will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 22, 2023 at Walnut Hill Mennonite Church, 1221 County Rd 675 E, Centralia, IL 62801. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 21 from 12:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. and resume again from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the Walnut Hill Mennonite Church. Interment will follow the funeral service in Walnut Hill Mennonite Cemetery.
