Joshua Ray Winkler

Joshua Ray Winkler, 19, of Wayne City, IL passed away on Sunday, October 23, 2022 in Wayne City.  Joshua was born July 3, 2003 in Centralia, IL.

He worked at several local restaurants where he developed his love for cooking.  He loved playing basketball with his little brother, and had an active social life filled with many dear friends.  He cherished having a close relationship with is mother Stacie, and she cherished him as well.  He will be dearly missed by those who knew him.

Joshua is survived by his mother Stacie Winkler of Wayne City, 3 brothers: Jordan Williams of Centralia, IL; Jacob Winkler of Wayne City and Jayden Wooten of Wayne City; a grandmother Nancy (and Bert “Larry”) Grimes of Centralia, a grandfather Billy Winkler of Newalla, OK; 2 aunts: Kellie Winkler of Newalla, OK and Marlow Urban of Fortville, IN; an uncle Cameron (Mindy) Powell of Alma, IL; and a daughter Aurora Winkler of Fairfield, IL.

He was preceded in death by a grandmother JoAnn Powell, his father Johnny Powell, and a sister Jayda Winkler.

A public visitation will be held from 1pm until 4 pm on Saturday, October 29, 2022 at Young Funeral Home in Wayne City.  After the visitation, those in attendance are encouraged to attend a meal afterwards at the Wayne City Baptist Church.  Online condolences, memories, and words of encouragement may be shared at www.youngfuneralhomellc.com.
