Karl Dexter Hess

Karl Dexter Hess, 26, a resident of Mt. Vernon, IL passed away at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, MO on Saturday, September 7, 2019.

Karl was born on March 17, 1993 in Mt. Vernon, IL to his parents Timothy Hess and Marcile (Mast) Hess.  On August 23, 2013 he married Martha Jewel (Rudolph) Hess Orchardville, IL who survives.

Karl worked for Country Blacksmith Trailers in Mt. Vernon, IL and was a member of the Orchardville Mennonite Church in Keenes, IL.

He is survived by his wife Martha Jewel Hess of Mt. Vernon, IL; 2 daughters:  Stella and Veronica Hess of Mt. Vernon, both parents Timothy and Marcile Hess of Opdyke, IL; 2 brothers: Keith and Eric Hess of Opdyke, 2 sisters: Kendra and Ruth Hess of Opdyke, grandmother Dorothy Hess of Logan, OH; and grandfather Ora Mast and grandmother Edna Mae Mast of Mountain View, AR.

He was preceded in death by his grandfather Oliver Hess.

Funeral services for Karl Dexter Hess will be held at 10 am on Thursday, September 12, 2019 at the Orchardville Mennonite Church in Keenes, IL with James Sensenig, Wilmer Eshbach, Timothy Allgyer, Mark Sensenig, Gerald Burkholder and Lyndell Eshbach officiating.  Visitation will be from 2 – 4 pm with an intermission and again from 6 – 8 pm on Wednesday, September 11, 2019 at the Orchardville Mennonite Church.

Memorials may be made to the Orchardville Mennonite Church to help towards funeral costs and will be accepted at the church and at Young Funeral Home in Wayne City, IL which is assisting with the arrangements.
