Linda Savage Obituary

Linda Grace (Gray) Savage, 64, a resident of McLeansboro, IL passed away Friday, November 6, 2020 at Deaconess Midtown Hospital in Evansville, IN with her family by her side. Linda was born March 26, 1956.

Linda is the Daughter of William H. "Fuss" Gray and the Late Helen (Scott) Gray.

Linda and Terry Dale Savage were united in marriage at Hebron Church in Walpole, IL on October 12, 1974. They had 46 blissful years of marriage together.  Terry still referred to "Grace" as his Beautiful Bride daily.

Linda was known for being a hard worker.  She started her career as an Activities Director while simultaneously taking night school courses in order to become a Licensed Practical Nurse.  She worked for many years at Hamilton Memorial Nursing Home and Hamilton Memorial Hospital in McLeansboro.  She also worked at Wabash Christian Retirement Center for several years and recently worked for the last 3 years at Vienna Correctional Center.

Linda had no greater joy in life than spending time with her family. She was the best mother to her two children…she learned from the best, because they “broke the mold” with Linda and Helen. Linda Grace received the most joy in spoiling her children and later in life her grandchildren, along with Hunter William and Halle Jo.

Linda enjoyed camping with her husband Terry. They loved to have “river taters” around the campfire with their family.  Smores and campfire pies were also a “must-have.”

Linda also enjoyed traveling.  Her and "T" traveled to Gatlinburg, Panama City Beach (with the whole family), Myrtle Beach, Las Vegas, Hawaii, and Hollywood.

She loved shopping for her kids and grandkids. She enjoyed flea markets, yard sales, and her yearly trip to the covered bridge festival.

Linda is survived by her husband Terry Dale Savage, 2 children:  a son Brandon Savage (significant other Heather Moles) of McLeansboro and a daughter Brooke Savage (fiancé Jay Wright) of Mount Vernon, IL.

Linda had 4 joys in life, her beautiful grandchildren, the apple of her eyes:  Landon and Payton Savage and Zier and Emorie Smith, all of McLeansboro.

She is also survived by a brother Bill (Jaime) Gray of Walpole, IL; a mother in law Jean Savage,

sister in law Connie (John) Allen, an uncle Robert Scott, 3 aunts: Joann Gray, Wynne Scott, and Lela McLevain, 6 nephews, 8 great nieces, 6 great nephews, and many cousins that she loved so much.

She was preceded in death by her mother Helen (Scott) Gray, a father in law Dale Savage, and a sister in law Phyllis Brake.
