Mary (Withrow) Mezo, 94, a resident of Wayne City, IL passed away at Aperion Care in Fairfield, IL on Saturday, March 14, 2020.
She was born on March 17, 1925 in Orel Township, IL to her parents Sylvester Aaron Hunt and Cena (Miller) Hunt. Mary was a homemaker and had also worked at Fairfield Memorial Hospital as a housekeeper. She and her husband Robert Mezo had previously owned the Little Ole Opry in Wayne City. She was a member of the Olive Branch Church.
Mary is survived by a son Cecil (Ardyth) Withrow, 3 daughtes: Shirley Cook, Barbara Benard, and Donnia (Butch) Legg, 10 grandchildren: Trent Legg, Tracy Laskowski, Tina Ahlersmeyer, Philina Weddington, Mike Benard, Marty Benard, Tammy Benard, Cyndi Vandenbossche, Loretta Withrow, and Nathan Withrow, and several great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by both parents, her first husband Cecil Withrow, her second husband Bob Mezo, a daughter Roxie Laskowski, 2 grandsons: Todd Legg and Curtis Shaw, 3 brothers: Ben Hunt, Howard Hunt, and Clarence Hunt, and 3 sisters: Ethel Gurley, Edie Trotter, and Floy Musser.
Funeral Services for Mary (Withrow) Mezo will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, March 16, 2020 at Young Funeral Home in Wayne City, with Rev. Richard McCormick officiating.
Visitation will be held from 9:00 am until the time of service at 11:00 am on Monday. Burial will follow at Baltimore Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the Baltimore Cemetery (also known as Olive Branch) and will be accepted at the Young Funeral Home in Wayne City.
