Mary Jo (Buck) McCormick

Mary Jo McCormick, 62, a resident of Sims, IL passed away Saturday, October 17, 2020 at Hamilton Memorial Hospital in McLeansboro, IL.

Mary Jo was born April 6, 1958 in Woodstock, IL to her parents David and Sally Buck.

She was a member of the Sims Congregational Christian Church and was a longtime member of the Rebekah's Lodge in Sims.

Mary Jo chose to be an organ and tissue donor, leaving behind a legacy of love and healing.  Her decision to donate the gift of life will help multiple others who are in need of organ or tissue transplants to experience hope for healing and a longer life.

Mary Jo McCormick is survived by 2 stepdaughters: Sara (Chris) Wise of Fairfield, IL and Tracy Smith of Wayne City, IL; 2 brother-in-laws: Gary (Judy) McCormick of Hillsboro, MO and Jim (Dee) McCormick of DeSoto, MO, 4 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews also survive.

She was preceded in death by both parents, her husband Ed "Snuff" McCormick, and a sister Margaret Buck.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held for Mary Jo McCormick on Wednesday, October 21, 2020 at 11 am at the Sims Congregational Christian Church in Sims, IL with Pastor Jay Vineyard officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to assist with final expenses and may be made to the care of Young Funeral Home in Wayne City, IL which is assisting with arrangements.  Memorials will be accepted at the church, or at Young Funeral Home.
