Melissa Marie (McCulley) Lowery

Melissa Marie Lowery, 56, of Wayne City, IL went to be with her Lord & Savior on Thursday, December 21, 2023 at Deaconess Midtown Hospital in Evansville, IN.

Melissa was born October 16, 1967 in Fairfield, IL to Ronald Dean McCulley & Reba L. (Monroe) McCulley.  On October 24, 1998 she married Todd Lowery, who survives.  They were blessed with 25 years of marriage.

Melissa worked as a medical billing specialist at Marion Eye Center in Mt. Vernon, IL.  She loved crafting and spending time with her grandbabies.  She enjoyed having her grandchildren over for sleepovers, going on vacations, and just spending time together.  Above all else, Melissa loved the Lord.  She was known to witness and share God’s message whenever and wherever she could.  She was a member of the Lighthouse Baptist Church in Mt. Vernon, IL and served as church secretary, a Sunday School teacher, and a youth leader.

Melissa is survived by her husband Todd Lowery of Wayne City, her parents Ronald & Reba McCulley of Wayne City, 2 sons: Blake (Jessica) Gregory of Mt. Vernon, IL and Jacob (Amanda) Gregory of Mt. Vernon, IL; 5 grandchildren:  Cooper Gregory, Kase Gregory, Lane Gregory, Olivia Gregory, and Alaina Gregory; a sister Angie (Rocky) Hedden of Wayne City, a brother Brian (Amy) McCulley of Mt. Vernon, IL; father-in-law & mother-in-law Dick & Diane Lowery of Bluford, IL; a sister-in-law Gina Lowery of Texas, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents and her aunts & uncles.

A public visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 26, 2023 at Young Funeral Home in Wayne City.  A graveside funeral service for Melissa Marie Lowery will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, December 27, 2023 at Bovee Cemetery, north of Boyleston, IL with Russell Gaston officiating.  Online condolences, memories, and words of encouragement may be shared at www.youngfuneralhomellc.com.
