Monna Lee Solomon, 85 of Wayne City, IL left for her heavenly home on Friday, May 27, 2022.
Monna Lee Musgrave (Solomon) was born November 16, 1936. She was the daughter of Harry and Beatrice Musgrave. She married Gene Solomon on January 12th 1954.
Monna was named after a radio soap opera character. She grew up on a farm and married Gene Solomon before he left to go serve in the army. She worked for years in the Wayne City Garment Factory. She also did all the billing and accounting for Solomon’s Dragline Service and later worked for NAPA auto parts assisting with the billing. She was a lifelong active member of the Wayne City Baptist Church. She attended several classes at Frontier Community College on a variety of subjects including several computer related courses. She played piano and frequently visited people in nursing homes. She enjoyed gardening and flowers and working on the family property but most of all being a grandmother to her 3 grandchildren
Monna Lee is survived by one son, Mark Solomon (Norita) of Springfield, Missouri; her grandson, Blake Solomon of Lee’s Summit, Missouri; her grandson Spencer Solomon of Springfield; her granddaughter Alexis “Lexi” Solomon of Springfield and three sisters Peggy Locher of Dyer, Tennessee, Jeannie Kissner (Bill) of Wayne City, IL and June Braddock of Walnut Hill, IL; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Harry and Beatrice Musgrave, two brothers Bernard Musgrave and Gene Musgrave, two sisters Fern Shehorn and Norma Shreve.
Funeral Services for Monna Lee Solomon will be held at 10:00 am on Tuesday, May 31st 2022 at the Wayne City Baptist Church in Wayne City, IL with Pastor Jay Loucks officiating. Visitation will be held from 5pm - 8pm on Monday, May 30th at Young Funeral Home in Wayne City. Interment will follow the funeral service at Thomason Cemetery in Wayne City. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Wayne City Baptist Church, and will be accepted at the church or at Young Funeral Home.
