Patricia Ann (Scarbrough) Carroll

Patricia Ann (Scarbrough) Carroll, 76, of Sims, IL passed away at 5:59 pm on Wednesday, October 19, 2022 at her home in Sims.

She was born in Sims, IL on July 25, 1946 the daughter of John and Buelah (Coil) Scarbrough.  On November 20, 1962 she married Virgil Carroll, who preceded her in death.  Patricia was a homemaker, and she enjoyed cooking, baking, and spending time with family and friends.  She was a former member of the Rebekah Lodge in Sims and the Save Our School organization in Sims.

Patricia is survived by a son Larry Carroll of Sims, 2 daughters: Sandra Carroll and Esther (Michael) Farmer, both of Sims, 2 granddaughters: April (Aaron) Newman of Mt. Vernon, IL and Cindy (Jeremy) Caudle of Wayne City, IL; 4 great-grandsons: Logan Newman of Mt. Vernon, IL; Gavin and Riley Harris of Cherokee Village, AR and Dalton Harris of Wayne City; 2 great-granddaughters: Mackenzie Newman of Mt. Vernon, IL and Lilly Luther of Wayne City, a step-great-grandson Justice Caudle of Fairfield, IL; 2 sisters-in-law: Jerrilyn Scarbrough of Fairfield and Rosemary Scarbrough of Flora, IL; 2 brothers: Herman “Bud” Scarbrough of Sims and Ronald Scarbrough of Fairfield, and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by both parents John and Buelah Scarbrough, husband Virgil Carroll, a son Jerry Carroll, a daughter Joyce Carroll, and 2 brothers: Jerry Scarbrough and Wayne Scarbrough.

Funeral services for Patricia Ann (Scarbrough) Carroll will be held at 1:00 pm on Tuesday, October 25, 2022 at Young Funeral Home in Wayne City, IL with Rev. Todd Burner officiating.  Visitation will be held from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Monday, October 24, 2022 at Young Funeral Home.  Interment will follow the funeral service at Pin Oak Cemetery, north of Sims, IL.   Online condolences, memories, and words of encouragement may be shared at www.youngfuneralhomellc.com
