Robert Allen Sunberg

Robert Allen Sunberg, 59, of Wayne City, IL passed away on Wednesday, June 4, 2025 at Mt. Vernon Countryside Manor in Mt. Vernon, IL.  Robert was born on July 19, 1965 in Traverse City, MI to Joseph & Norma Sunberg.  He was a member of the First Christian Church of Wayne City.

Robert loved word search puzzles, listening to music, watching wrestling, and watching horror movies.  He enjoyed collecting hot wheels cars, dinosaur figures, and comic books.  He enjoyed traveling, and going on walks around town.  He was known for being a kind and easy-going person.

Robert is survived by his father Joseph Sunberg of Wayne City, his sister Angela Ferguson of Hampton, VA and an uncle Norbert Sunberg of Cincinnati, OH.

He was preceded in death by his mother Norma Sunberg, a grandfather Joseph H. Sunberg, a grandmother Lillian Sunberg, a grandfather Kenneth Harlow, and a grandmother Geraldine Jackson.

A Memorial Service for Robert Allen Sunberg will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Friday, June 13, 2025 at Young Funeral Home in Wayne City with Bro. Rob Greenwalt officiating.  A Memorial Gathering will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at 12:00 p.m. on Friday at Young Funeral Home.  Interment will follow the funeral service in Mt. Vernon Memorial Gardens in Woodlawn, IL.
