Robert “Bob” Ronald Barbee, 78, of Wayne City, IL passed away Sunday, December 27, 2020 at Aspen Creek Assisted Living in Troy, IL.
He was born December 22, 1942 near Dahlgren, IL to Frank Barbee and Jennie Ruth (Finn) Barbee. On April 4, 1961 he married Irene (Dickey) Barbee, who survives.
Robert was a farmer, a carpenter for Union 636, and a millwright. He was a member of the Wayne City Baptist Church and a former member of the Wayne City Ruritans. He enjoyed hunting, camping, watching his grandchildren play in sporting events, and spending time with his family.
Robert “Bob” Ronald Barbee is survived by his wife Irene Barbee of Wayne City, 3 children: Ronald (Denise) Barbee, Patty (Kent) Loker, and Rick (Jean) Barbee; 7 grandchildren: Justin (Stacia) Slover, Megan (Tyler) Kiefer, Adam Barbee, Andrew Barbee, Olivia Barbee, Nathanial Barbee, and Matthew Barbee; and 4 great grandchildren: Jaxson, Jakin, and Slate Slover and Owen Kiefer.
He was preceded in death by both parents.
Funeral services for Robert “Bob” Ronald Barbee will be held at 1 pm on Wednesday, December 30, 2020 at the Olive Branch Baptist Church south of Wayne City, IL with Pastor Keith Neal officiating. Visitation will also be on Wednesday from 10 am until the time of service at 1 pm at the church.
Burial will at Baltimore Cemetery across from the church.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Baltimore Cemetery Fund and will be accepted at the church or at Young Funeral Home in Wayne City, which has been entrusted to provide arrangements.
