Robert Oren “Bob” Kittle, 92, of Wayne City, IL passed away on Wednesday, December 21, 2022 at his home in Wayne City.
Bob was born August 1, 1930 in Paxton, IL the son of Merl & Flossie (Richardson) Kittle. On January 28, 1956 he married Ruby Eleanor (Brown) Kittle, who preceded him in death on November 17, 2021.
Bob had many different careers during his lifetime, but he was mostly known for TV tower installation and maintenance in the Wayne City area. He also worked as a carpenter for the L.J. Keith company in Fairfield, IL and was a U.S. Army veteran who served overseas in Germany. He was a member of the Turning Point Church of God in McLeansboro, IL and was a volunteer for the church’s food pantry program along with his wife Ruby. He also helped with the church’s tent during Hamilton County’s Fall Festival. He was always happy to help those in need. He enjoyed camping and playing with his grandkids. Bob was a great father and grandfather. He was well-loved, and he will be greatly missed.
Bob is survived by 4 daughters: Roberta Harwell of Wayne City, Ruth (William) Stewart of Wayne City, Rita (Randall) Ash of Fairfield, IL and Rhonda Stewart of Wayne City; a son Ronnie Kittle of Wayne City, 13 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, and 5 great-great-grandchildren; 2 sister-in-laws: Sue Brown of McLeansboro and Lola Brown of Fairfield, and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by both parents, his wife Ruby Eleanor Kittle, a brother Clifford Kittle, a sister Maxine Buchanan, and a granddaughter Christina Harwell.
Funeral services for Robert Oren “Bob” Kittle will be held at 1:00 pm on Tuesday, December 27, 2022 at the Archie L. Sanders Memorial Chapel in Wayne City with Pastor Leo Hall officiating.
Visitation will be held prior to the funeral service from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm at the chapel. Interment will follow the funeral service at Thomason Cemetery in Wayne City.
