Rose Hammond Obituary

Rose Mary Hammond, a resident of Wayne City, IL passed away at Fairfield Memorial Hospital in Fairfield, IL on Sunday, August 9, 2020.

Rose worked as a C.N.A. in Evansville, IN, Mt. Vernon, IL, and Carmi, IL and then worked as an in-home health care provider.  She was a bible school teacher and a longtime and active member of the Long Prairie Missionary Baptist Church.  Rose enjoyed spending time with family, friends, and at church.

Rose is survived by her husband Billy Hammond, 3 stepchildren: Michael (Julie) Hammond, Michelle (Allen) Booth, and Misty Ray (Chris Mitchell); 2 sisters:  Doris (David) Schlag and Donna Bartlett (Robert Knauss); a sister in law Lois Hutchcraft, a brother in law Charles Thierry, 4 step grandchildren, 4 step great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews, who she loved as if they were her own.

She was preceded in death by both parents Vern and Geraldine Hutchcraft, 2 sisters: Fern Thierry and Carol Ann Fletcher, a brother David Hutchcraft, a nephew Kenneth Hutchcraft, a niece Rachel VanHorn, and a great nephew Jameson Russel West.

Graveside funeral services for Rose Mary Hammond will be held at 10 am on Wednesday, August 12, 2020 at the Farnsworth Cemetery, south of Keenes, IL with Jerry Trotter officiating.  Those attending are asked to meet directly at the cemetery.
