Roy Dean Mason

Roy Dean Mason, 50, a resident of Sims, IL passed away at his home on Sunday, September 8, 2019.

Roy was born on March 3, 1969 in Fairfield, IL to his parents Charles Ray Mason and Mildred (Briley) Mason.  He was married to Bonnie Mason, who preceded him in death on November 13, 2018.

Roy worked as a farmhand for various farms in Wayne County.  He was a member of the Olive Branch Missionary Baptist Church in Wayne City, IL.

Roy is survived by a son Caleb Mason of Sims, IL; 4 brothers:  Randy (wife Leeta) Mason of Wayne City, Ronnie (wife Lena) Mason of Wayne City, Richard (wife Andrea) Mason of Woodlawn, IL; and Robby (wife Angel) Mason of Bluford, IL.  Several nieces and nephews also survive.

He was preceded in death by his wife Bonnie Mason, both parents, and 2 nephews.

Funeral services for Roy Dean Mason will be held at 10 am on Thursday, September 12, 2019 at the Young Funeral Home in Wayne City, IL with Pastor Steve Hamson officiating.  Visitation will be from 5 pm – 8 pm on Wednesday, September 11, 2019 at Young Funeral Home.  Burial will be at Baltimore Cemetery, south of Wayne City, IL.

Memorials may be made to Randy Mason to help the family with funeral costs and will be accepted at Young Funeral Home in Wayne City.
