Sandra Kay (Meyers) Hertenstein

Sandra Kay Hertenstein, 73, a resident of Wayne City, IL passed away at Fairfield Memorial Hospital in Fairfield, IL on Saturday, April 25, 2020.

Sandra was born on April 25, 1947 to her parents Otis Meyers and Veneta (Allen) Meyers.  She married Roger Hertenstein, who survives, and they were blessed with nearly 55 years of marriage.

Sandra was half owner of Hertenstein Auction Company and had previously worked as a real estate agent and for Pillsbury.  She was a member of the First Christian Church in Wayne City.

She is survived by her husband Roger Hertenstein of Wayne City, a son Jeff (Tammy) Hertenstein of Xenia, IL; a grandson Logan (Rebecca) Hertenstein of Flora, IL; a granddaughter Karisa Hertenstein of Glen Carbon, IL; 1 great grandchild Amelia Hertenstein of Flora, and a brother Darrell E. Meyers of Sunnyside, GA.

She was preceded in death by both parents.

In order to comply with recommended guidelines regarding COVID-19 precautions, a private family service will be held for Sandra Kay Hertenstein by her immediate family with Bro. Tim Coonce officiating.  Burial will be at Thomason Cemetery in Wayne City.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Keenes Christian Church and will be accepted at Young Funeral Home in Wayne City, which has been entrusted to provide arrangements.
