Victoria Lynn (Morris) Maxey

Victoria Lynn Maxey of Wayne City, IL went to be with God the morning of June 16, 2020 at the age of 51.  She was born March 14, 1969 in Chicago, IL to Diane and John Morris.

Vicki worked at the Wayne City Early Learning Center as a Pre-K teacher who loved all her students, past and present.  She loved life to the fullest through simple pleasures and spending time with her family.  Vicki had an uncanny ability to reach people in a deep and positive way.

She is survived by her beloved husband of 29 years, Rodney Maxey and their 2 children:  Zachary (Tesia) Maxey and Nathan Maxey, both of Wayne City.  Vicki was a loving grandmother to Aubrie R. Maxey and Irelyn F. Maxey, a beautiful daughter to Diane Morris of Salem, IL and a niece to Starlene Clark. She was a wonderful sister to Derek (Becky) Morris of Iuka, IL and a favorite aunt to many nieces and nephews. Vicki was preceded in death by her father, John Morris and her brother Logan Morris.

Friends, family, and others whose lives Vicki touched are invited to attend Vicki’s Memorial Service at  Young Funeral Home in Wayne City.  Services will be held on Sunday June 21, 2020  at 2 pm and will conclude at 5 pm.  Those attending are encouraged to reminisce, grieve, and support each other, or just visit and chat.  Services are open to the public and social distancing and the wearing of masks are highly encouraged to assure the safety of all of those in attendance.  For further details, please contact Young Funeral Home.  Online condolences may be made at www.youngfuneralhomellc.com
