Wayne Allen "Weiner" Scarbrough

Wayne Allen “Weiner” Scarbrough, 65, a resident of Fairfield, IL passed away at his home on Wednesday, January 1, 2020.

He was born on October 22, 1954 in Sims, IL to his parents John and Beulah Scarbrough.  On July 18, 1987 he married Jerrilyn (Hunt) Scarbrough, who survives.

Wayne worked at Airtex in Fairfield for over 40 years.  He enjoyed hunting rabbits and birds, and spending time with his grandkids.

Wayne is survived by his wife Jerrilyn Scarbrough of Fairfield, 2 sons: Brett Hunt of Mt. Vernon, IL and Kyle (Jana) Hunt of Edwardsville, IL; a daughter Shalaunda (David) McCulley of Fairfield, 2 brothers: Ronald (Lou) Scarbrough of Fairfield and Bud (Rosemary) Scarbrough of Sims, IL; a sister Patricia Carroll of Sims, 8 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by both parents, a brother Jerry Scarbrough, and 3 grandchildren.

Funeral services for Wayne Allen “Weiner” Scarbrough will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, January 4, 2020 at the Olive Branch Church south of Wayne City, IL with Pastor Brian Fuller officiating.

Visitation will be held from 5 PM – 8 PM on Friday, January 3, 2020 at the Young Funeral Home in Wayne City, IL.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society and will be accepted at the Young Funeral Home in Wayne City or at the Olive Branch Church.
