Wheeler Lee Humphrey

We are devastated to announce our precious Wheeler Lee Humphrey was taken to her eternal home as she was surrounded by her loving earthly family.  The 5 year old daughter of Travis Humphrey and Savannah Creighton, Wheeler, passed away on Friday October 8th, 2021 at St. Louis Children’s Hospital.

Wheeler was without a doubt a spunky, blue-eyed beauty put on this earth to touch lives.  In her 5 years, 4 months, and 21 days, Wheeler touched countless lives and brought smiles to the faces of many.  If you ever were privileged enough to experience Wheeler singing, see her carrying her “piggy”, or hear one of the many stories of her and her sisters’ shenanigans, we are certain you will smile with the memories she left us.

Wheeler was the best little sister to Rendley and Joplin.  Those three girls, along with their dogs Cody and Snow, especially loved visiting their neighbors and special friends, Tom & Sue Crouch.

Wheeler loved kindergarten.  She loved her classmates and friends at Bluford Grade School, but Wheeler really loved her teacher Mrs. Stacy Jones.  Mrs. Jones was teaching Wheeler to write, which she was so excited about!

Wheeler Lee Humphrey was born on May 18th, 2016 to Travis Humphrey and Savannah Creighton of Bluford, IL.  She was the little sister and best friend to Rendley and Joplin, both of Bluford, IL.   Wheeler was loved immensely by her grandparents, Mark & Karen Donoho, Pat & Trena Creighton, and Dennis & Sharon Manahan.  Wheeler is also survived by 17 aunts and uncles, and numerous cousins.

Wheeler was preceded in death and welcomed to Heaven by her great-grandparents Ralph & Toots Humphrey, John & Connie Dunnigan, Tom & Leah Creighton, and Tom & Carlene Gross.

Funeral Services for Wheeler Lee Humphrey will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, October 16th, 2021 at Young Funeral Home in Wayne City, IL with Jay Vineyard and Ron Loker officiating.

Visitation will be held from 3:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Friday, October 15th, 2021 at Young Funeral Home in Wayne City, IL.  Wheeler will be laid to rest at Thomason Cemetery in Wayne City, IL.  Online condolences may be made at www.youngfuneralhomellc.com
